Naturland Association for Organic Agriculture

Naturland

Naturland is one of the major global certification organisations for organic agricultural produce. Just as Naturland farmers and processors are subject to annual inspection, Naturland too is inspected once a year by neutral, qualified organisations, such as as the IOAS to verify that the certification was performed according to the defined norms of ISO/IEC 17065.
Thus proving that the Naturland certification system fulfils the most stringent internationally recognised standards. Naturland is a member of IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements) and actively involved in the promotion of organic agriculture world-wide.

Accreditation under ISO/IEC 17065

ISO/IEC 17065 describes the general requirements of bodies which perform product certification which have to be fulfilled for them to be recognised as reliable and reputable. Accreditation under ISO/IEC 17065 shows that certification was performed according to defined norms.
Since early 1998, accreditation under ISO/IEC 17065 has taken on great significance, particularly in the international movement of goods. Certain countries both within and without the EU insist on certification under ISO/IEC 17065, otherwise they will not allow the import of or trade in the organic produce.
Naturland is the only German organic association to be awarded an accreditation certificate under ISO/IEC 17065, since November, 1998.
