Naturland policy guidelines

The Naturland policy guidelines

Since the founding of Naturland in 1982 and subsequent developments, the context of organic agriculture worldwide has changed positively overall, in part through the influence of Naturland. Naturland took up new areas of activity within organic agriculture, carrying out pioneering work. The vision and goals of the early days of the organization are still relevant today, but new challenges and chances also demand new answers. This also necessitates reflection on Naturland's understanding of itself – as the foundation for further success. This understanding was formulated in a Naturland policy guidelines.

The policy guidelines as a source of direction
The policy guidelines provides the overall orientation needed to reach organization's goals and clarifies the relationships between different working groups within Naturland e.V. and its partner organizations. Externally, the policy guidelines promotes Naturland by presenting a succinct picture of the mandate that Naturland has taken up on behalf of society and by articulating Naturland's values: A picture with which members, bodies and employees can identify themselves. The policy guidelines was developed by an internal working group drawn from all the organization's areas of activity and regions. It was adopted by the delegates at Naturland's annual general meeting in the autumn of 2008 after extensive discussion and further development within various bodies of the organization.

The policy guidelines itself is organized by the principles, which include the mission and the values that motivate and drive Naturland.  In addition, a more detailed description of how this mission and these values are to be carried out in the various fields of activity was also undertaken.
