Naturland is an international organic farmers’ association based in Germany that supports the development of organic farming on a regional, national and global scale, together with its partner organizations and farmers. Founded in 1982 in Bavaria, it developed in the region before extending its membership in Germany, Europe and even globally. With over 140,000 farmers in about 60 countries, it is one of the leading international organic farmers’ associations.

We are looking for a full-time employee (f/m/d) to start as soon as possible.

Management Africa Projects and Strategy
Purpose: Expansion and support of Naturland's activities in Africa

Your tasks

  • Management of the BMZ Partner Africa project between Naturland and Rwanda as well as a possible GIZ project aiming at supporting the conversion of coffee farms to a Naturland certified agroforestry system.
  • Coordination of the establishment of a Naturland East Africa Hub
  • Coordination and implementation of the Naturland Africa strategy
  • Cooperation and networking with NGOs, donors and partners in Africa and Europe
  • Support in the application and coordination of development projects in Africa
  • Establishment/support of structures and educational activities on site
  • Representation of Naturland at trade fairs, conferences and workshops concerning Africa

Your profile

  • Completed university study or a relevant training
  • Several years (at least 4 years) of professional experience in the field of development cooperation, project implementation
  • Knowledge in the field of coffee cultivation and/or processing as well as agroforestry systems desirable
  • Experience in organic farming is an advantage
  • Reference to or experience in (East) Africa
  • Very good English and good German. French is an advantage.
  • Confident handling of the common MS Office applications
  • Very good written and oral communication
  • Independent and self-reliant action as well as a careful and goal-oriented way of working
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel
