ACCREDITATIONS
Naturland is one of the world's leading certification organisations for organically produced products. Our work as a certification organisation is regularly inspected by internationally recognised, independent evaluation bodies (both public and private) such as the International Organic Accreditation Service (IOAS) for compliance with stringent standards such as ISO/IEC 17065.
Just as we carry out inspections on our Naturland producers and processors each year, we are also inspected annually by independent professional organisations to prove that our Naturland certification system meets the highest internationally recognised standards. We are members of IFOAM - Organics International and actively support the further development of organic production on a global level.
ACCREDITATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH ISO/IEC 17065
ISO/IEC 17065 describes the general requirements for product certification bodies to be recognised as reputable and reliable. An accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065 confirms that certifications are carried out in line with the established standards.
Since early 1998, the ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation has become a high priority, particularly in the international trade arena. For example, certain countries both inside and outside the EU make it compulsory to use an ISO/IEC 17065-accredited certification body, otherwise the organic products may not be imported or traded.
Naturland has held an ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation since 1998, making it the first German organic association to gain this formal recognition.
