Naturally, an academy needs trainers and experts. Having built up its digital learning platform, the Naturland Academy is now developing this second pillar by gathering contacts of experts and trainers in organic agriculture and aquaculture.
Knowledge needs experts that know the local conditions, the culture, the soil and the language of the farmers. Only then can this knowledge be successfully adapted to the context of the target group. And an effective knowledge-sharing needs trainers who know how to share knowledge in a way that empowers farmers and motivates them to implement what they learned into their farm management practices.
More than 150 people all over the world have already expressed their motivation to join the journey of the Naturland Academy. Some have had previous contact with the Naturland world - as auditor of the Naturland standards, as expert, as management staff of a Naturland member, or as like-minded supporter of organic farming. And some experts are new to the Naturland world. A first exchange of this group was organized in September 2024 to discuss challenges and expectations of the new network.
The experts and trainers who have joined the network are motivated to establish a closer, long-term connection with each other, and to collaborate on creative solutions for the problems shared by farmers in different countries. They are interested in staying up-to-date on organic practices and certifications, and to collaborate on impacts beyond compliance to create lasting change. They also expect Naturland to ensure the quality of the trainings and envision the Naturland Academy as a global collaboration platform for trainers. The next steps are already underway: Naturland is currently hiring a senior program manager to structure and animate this new-born network. First activities are planned in 2025.
